Vanderhoof Emergency Operations Centre – PSA #2
The District of Vanderhoof Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has been opened at a Level One activation. Opening the EOC is not a cause for alarm – although it’s always great to be prepared! – it means dealing with the wildfires and smoke adds to the day-to-day resources and management of the District and there are multiple agencies involved. Three District staff members are currently filling the required roles to monitor and assess the situation and coordinate resources and responses. Opening the EOC also gives the District access to some provincial funding, should the need arise.
Vanderhoof Mayor, Council and staff are in close contact with provincial and regional representatives and are briefed by BC Wildfire daily. Our District webpage and social media accounts will be kept up to date for resident information.
