June 28, 2021Heat-Related Illness and Sprinkler Restrictions

Heat-Related Illness

Please be advised that a long-duration heat wave will affect B.C. during the coming week and is expected to dissipate on June 30th.

During this time, please be mindful of heat-related illness and how it can be prevented.

Stay Hydrated
Drink extra water even before you feel thirsty and if you are active on a hot day.
Stay Cool
Plan outdoor activities before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. when the sun’s UV radiation is weakest.
Stay Alert
Regularly check older adults, children, and pets for signs of heat-related illness and make sure they are keeping cool and staying hydrated.

For more tips, visit HealthLinkBC.
