Every year, credit unions across the globe recognize the third Thursday in October as International Credit Union Day. This year, International Credit Union Day falls on October 21st and many credit unions will celebrate in the communities we serve.
This year’s theme is “Building financial health for a brighter tomorrow.”
lntegris Credit Union is an amalgamation of three credit unions, formerly Prince George Savings Credit Union, Quesnel and District Credit Union, and Nechako Valley Credit Union. We have a longstanding history in the region and have proudly served members since October 28, 1946. This year, in addition to Credit Union Day, we also celebrate our 75”‘ anniversary.
Credit unions are very different from banks – our main differentiating feature being that we are owned by our members. Another differentiating feature is that we are a cooperative and follow the cooperative principles’:
