Community Wood Smoke Reduction Program
The Community Wood Smoke Reduction Program offers rebates for replacing your old stove with a more efficient one to help improve Vanderhoof’s air quality. You must live within the District of Vanderhoof to be eligible. For more information, please download the application form below.
The 2023 program is offering $1000 for installing a new woodstove, $2000 for installing a new pellet or electric appliance, and $3000 for installing a heat pump. All types of exchanges will also receive up to $200 to cover the cost of WETT inspections or installations for non-wood appliances.
Completed forms can be sent to the Chief Financial Officer. The Community Wood Smoke Reduction Program is offered through an annual grant from the BC Lung Association and the Ministry of Environment, with matching dollars offered by the District of Vanderhoof.

Wood Smoke Course
The Wood Smoke Course is a new, interactive learning tool designed to teach the owners and operators of wood stoves how to burn cleanly and efficiently and explain the benefits of doing so.
