The District of Vanderhoof is currently looking for public member applications to be part of the Council Remuneration Task Force.
The purpose of the Task Force is to conduct research, review existing bylaws, policies, and practices, and provide an independent report with recommendations with respect to Council remuneration, benefits, and expenses for the next term of office. The Task Force will make recommendations with respect to:
- Guiding principles for council remuneration;
- Appropriate remuneration including base salary and per diem amounts;
- Benefits offered;
- Allowances and expenses;
- Options for making periodic adjustments to established remuneration; and
- Standards for remuneration review.
The Task Force will make its recommendations to Council by way of a report. The Task Force will report to Council no later than June 30, 2022.
Public members that apply must be able to attend all meetings. Meetings for this task force are:
- Friday, May 20th at 12:00 pm
- Friday, May 27th at 12:00 pm
- Friday, June 3rd at 12:00 pm

Task Force Vision: The Council Remuneration Task Force is to provide an unbiased and reasonable review of the Mayor and Council’s remuneration and expense policies conducted each year when a general local election is to be held.
Task Force Mandate: A Council Remuneration Task Force consisting of representatives from the community at large shall convene in the year when a general local election is to be held. The Task Force shall review the Council’s remuneration and expense policies with the objective of presenting recommendations on its findings to the Council with any changes to be in effect for January of the following year of the inaugural Council meeting.
