In September 2025, the Minister of Forests invited the District of Vanderhoof to apply for an expansion of the Community Forest.
Since then, Council has been working closely with the Community Forest Manager, Sinclar Group Forest Products, to evaluate potential expansion opportunities and develop options for submission to Minister Parmar.
The District’s Natural Resources Committee—Mayor Moutray and Councillors Frenkel and Van Dolah—will be at the Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market on Thursday, July 30, and are interested in hearing your thoughts and ideas on the proposed expansion. Your input will help shape the plan before it is submitted.
