In March 2022, the Provincial Government made amendments to section 94 of the Community Charter regarding public notice, the pertinent section being 94.2 – Bylaw to provide for alternative means of publication.
District of Vanderhoof Council adopted Public Notice Bylaw 1252, 2023 in March 2023 which prescribes the way statutory public notice is provided. Statutory notice is required for such things as Public Hearings, elections and referenda, Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel, tax sales and the annual notice of Regular Council Meetings. Bylaw 1252, 2023 establishes the posting places as the notice board in the Municipal Office foyer, this webpage and the District’s Facebook Page.
