Chamber of Commerce – Business Walks
The Chamber of Commerce presented on the December 2021 Business Walks Report. The representatives of the Chamber of Commerce intended to improve the community engagement for 2022.

Administration Reports

Riverside Park Erosion Mitigation Project Update
Council expressed an interest in moving forward with option two of the request for decision and that staff look further into the cost associated with this project. Council directed staff to pursue a detailed design and permitting to construct the interim planting solution recommended by the project consultant at an estimated cost of $430,000 with a $130,000 contingency allowance funded from the Community Forest Reserve.

December 2021 Accounts Payable Listing
Staff reported on the December 2021 Accounts Payable listings.

Northside Water Update
The council received the Northside Water Update report for information.

Fire Department Report
Staff submitted the Fire Department Report.

Coastal Gaslink Atco Trailer Update
Council noted that they are grateful for the donation.

Annual Water System Report
Council noted the high amount of water usage during the 2021 heatwave.

Old Business

International Airshow Society Requests
Council approved the Vanderhoof International Airshow Society’s request to use the Vanderhoof Municipal Airport for the 2022 Vanderhoof Airshow (August 5-7, 2022), conditional on the submission of a COVID-19 communicable disease plan and proper insurance. Council also approves the request for resources and staff assistance for the Airshow. And Council approves the Vanderhoof International Airshow Society’s request for use of the portable washrooms.

New Business

Graffiti Policy No. 9.8
Council mentioned how the District sees graffiti on the bridge on Burrard Avenue and in the baseball diamond dugouts. Council would like to add these areas to the policy.
Result: Council adopted the Graffiti Policy No. 9.8

Centerra Gold Community Project Fund – PurpleAir Monitors
Council is supporting the District of Vanderhoof’s application to the Centerra GoldCommunity Project Fund in the amount of $4,000 towards the purchase and installation of 10 PurpleAir Monitors.
