We’re sharing a reminder today about some key business licence requirements within the District to help keep things running smoothly for everyone.
If you own or operate a business within Vanderhoof (whether commercial or home-based, as a resident or not), you’ll need a valid business licence. Licences are issued on an annual basis and must be renewed by April 30 each year.
If details about your business change, such as contact information or the nature of the business, please notify the District as soon as possible so we can update our records. (Changes like transferring ownership or moving locations are subject to a small fee.)
No matter what type of businesses you operate, you must follow applicable provincial regulations and municipal bylaws. If you are running a restaurant or other food service business, your operations must comply with Northern Health food premises safety requirements. In certain situations, mobile food trucks or trailers are required to get a Mobile Food Vendor Permit in addition to their business licence.
Thank you for working hard for your community and for ensuring your business licence and information is kept up-to-date.
