Provincial legislation adopted in 2023, along with amendments to the Local Government Act, require the District of Vanderhoof to update Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1229, 2020 (OCP) to ensure it aligns with new housing needs reporting requirements. Due to time constraints, the District has prepared the 2025 OCP as an update to the 2020 Plan rather than a full rewrite.
Section 1.2 of the draft bylaw outlines the requirements introduced through the new legislation.

The bylaw will be presented to Council for first and second readings at the Regular Council Meeting on January 26, 2026, followed by a Public Hearing on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
