The following is a notice of application for a zoning amendment and the waiver of a Public Hearing.
At the June 26, 2023 Regular Council Meeting, Council will consider first, second and third readings of Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1260, 2023, which seeks to allow secondary suites in multi-family buildings on this property. In December 2019 the BC Building Code made significant changes to how the Code regulates suites including allowing suites in buildings that contain more than one dwelling unit or occupancy. This now permits suites in side-by-side duplexes and row townhouse-style buildings where a vertical fire separation separates the dwelling unit and suite from the remainder of the building.
The proposed zoning amendment is consistent with the Official Community Plan (OCP) and is not within the Agricultural Land Reserve. The OCP designation for the property is Residential.
Pursuant to section 464(2) of the Local Government Act, the holding of a Public Hearing on a proposed zoning bylaw is not required if the bylaw is consistent with the OCP.
Proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1260, 2023 is available for public inspection at the District of Vanderhoof Office located at 160 Connaught Street from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except statutory holidays, or by requesting a copy via email to corporate@district.vanderhoof.ca.
