The district of vanderhoof is getting a new city manager
We are pleased to announce that Mayor and Council have selected Gerald Pinchbeck as the new Chief Administrative Officer for the District of Vanderhoof. We are excited to have someone like Gerald in this position who will foster a working culture of success and efficiency and bring new and exciting ideas into the District while maintaining smooth operations.
Gerald comes to us from the Cariboo Region and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George. He has spent the last five years supporting the District of Houston in developing an Asset Management Strategy and in leading long-term capital planning initiatives such as the Downtown Revitalization Project.
Mayor Thiessen is excited to announce the municipal office’s new leadership, stating, “Gerald comes to us with a good working knowledge, experience, and passion for Northern British Columbia resource-based communities. We are a community that is in transition with a bright future and we look forward to the strong, stable steps being provided by this announcement.”
Additionally, Mayor & Council want to recognize and appreciate “the qualities that Martin Taylor brought to our community over the past 3 months.” Recently, Martin has been leading and supporting the District as the interim CAO with his many years of knowledge and expertise, and has been helping to prepare Gerald for success as the District’s new CAO.
Gerald is eager to begin making progress, expressing, “I am excited to be entering my new role with the District of Vanderhoof and look forward to working with Mayor and Council and their team of talented staff. I look forward to working with the community members and the District on advancing key community initiatives while continuing to support the delivery of excellent municipal services. My family and I also look forward to enjoying the many amenities and opportunities for adventure that Vanderhoof has to offer.”
Although Gerald has already begun acquainting himself with the municipal office and its staff, his official start date with the District of Vanderhoof is August 3rd, 2021.
Please join us in welcoming Gerald Pinchbeck to our community!
