2026 Budget Information
Council held budget meetings in February, March, and April 2026. After the March 5 meeting, the District invited the public to provide feedback on the budget, but no comments were received.
Council approved a 2.1% tax increase, which matches the rate of inflation (CPI). This increase comes despite the District collecting over $314,000 less in tax revenue due to the closure of the Canfor Plateau Mill. The revenue loss was managed within the existing budget by reducing the amount of capital projects funded through taxation.
The agendas and minutes for the budget meetings and the Financial Plan and Tax Rates bylaws may be found here. Below is the 2026 Taxation distribution.
