Pursuant to section 24(1)(d) of the Community Charter, the Council of the District of Vanderhoof (the District) gives notice that the District has entered into a partnership agreement with CWT-VANDERHOOF TELECOM CORP. (CWT-VAN), a wholly owned subsidiary of City West Cable & Telephone Corp., to develop a fiber optic network and deliver broadband telecommunication services for subscribing Service Area residents and businesses in three Fibre Service Areas within municipal boundaries.
In exchange for a portion of the profits, the District of Vanderhoof will contribute $2,100,000 (50% of the Project Capital Costs) in accordance with the terms of the agreement. The agreement will be in effect until the earlier of 30 years following the date of Substantial Completion, subject to any extensions and the date this Agreement is terminated in accordance with the agreement.
