Are you an avid disc golfer looking to try a new way to play? Or have never played before and would like to give it a try?
The District of Vanderhoof Accessibility Committee would like to invite you to come out to the Vanderhoof Disc Golf Course on Sunday, May 25, 11 AM to 2 PM, for the Playing in My Shoes accessible disc golf event!
The event runs simultaneously at numerous courses in BC and across Canada on the first day of Accessibility Week in Canada, featuring a variety of throws which recognize another persons’ level of abilities and teach empathy by understanding, with the goal of promoting inclusion and accessibility to disc golf and all sports. The throws are done wearing earplugs or a blindfold, throwing with your non-dominant arm or a taped hand, or from a wheelchair or seated position.
Participation in the event is free and open to all ages. Come by if you can and try something new!
