Winter is rearing its chilly head again and our Public Works crews are preparing to be out and about plowing our streets during snowy days.
If you have a sidewalk in front of your home or business, you are responsible for keeping it safe and passable for pedestrians, strollers, or users with mobility aids. Shovel the sidewalk in front of your home once you’ve finished your driveway or shovel in front of your business periodically, such as during slower hours or when shifts change.
Please park your vehicle in a driveway or garage to allow the Public Works team to plow streets without interference. This also includes equipment such as trash cans, hockey nets, or other outdoor items. The District may order the removal of any vehicle which interferes with snow clearing operations at the cost of the owner, if necessary.
Public Works will prioritize Burrard Avenue, the downtown core and access for essential services, then residential areas for snow clearing throughout the winter.
